Make Sure You’re ALL IN for MCAA 2018

Registration is now open for MCAA 2018 in San Antonio, TX, March 25-29. Faculty and students are welcome and encouraged to attend MCAA’s greatest convention ever and go ALL IN!

The convention program features an excellent line-up of inspiring, thought-provoking speakers. Bestselling author and innovative thinker Malcolm Gladwell, named one of the most influential people in the world by Time magazine, opens the convention with his insightful perspectives on how we can take on any challenge—whether personal or business-related—by making the most of our inner strengths. David Robinson, NBA All-Star and champion, Olympian and philanthropist, will move and inspire you at the Annual Awards Ceremony. Former First Lady Laura Bush will share her experiences and lessons learned from advocating for women and children.  UA General President Mark McManus will address the convention during the Closing Session. And, Ted Koppel, news anchor, columnist and author who is best known for anchoring ABC TV’s Nightline, will share his view of current U.S. and global issues, also at the Closing Session.

Another featured event…and one we know you’ll want to attend…is the annual Final Four of the 2017-2018 MCAA Student Chapter Competition. This year, the event takes place on Monday afternoon (March 26) from 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. We’ll have to see who makes the stage, but be assured the top four teams will deliver impressive presentations on the Fogo de Chao Restaurant project.

Other events that you’ve come to know and enjoy are scheduled—the Annual Student Chapter Exhibit and the Annual Student Chapter Luncheon and Meeting will be back on Tuesday, March 27 and Wednesday, March 28 respectively.

The entertainment, recreational and social events are all over-the-top. If you enjoy a great round of golf, a brisk early morning run or walk or a challenging game of tennis, you and your students are welcome to participate in those events. You are all also welcome to attend all of our social events featuring top-line entertainment. THE TRIP, the group that you rocked and danced to last year on the deck of the USS Midway, will do it all again at this Opening Party. The Dessert Party brings back the always enjoyable and fun to dance to Tool Shed Band and the final concert will feature the incredible four-time Grammy winner, songwriter, vocalist and musician Keith Urban.

There’ll be lots of learning going on too. Workshops and informational sessions are planned to prompt discussion and greater understanding of the issues concerning our industry today and into the future.

You won’t want to miss this convention so make plans now to attend and go ALL IN. Want to know more about the program?  Visit the MCAA18 Website or contact Ann Mattheis.
